Ondjaki

He studied sociology in Lisbon and holds a PhD in African Studies from Naples. His work includes five novels, five collections of short stories, six volumes of poetry, two plays and nine children’s books; his books have been translated into numerous languages. In 2010 he received the Brazilian “Prêmio Jabuti”, in 2013 he was awarded the Portuguese “Prémio José Saramago”, and in 2016 the “Prix littéraire du Monde”. He also runs a bookshop and a publishing house in Luanda.
